ActOne Logo

ActOne ArtsBase runs vibrant all-ability dance, theatre and arts projects all over Hertfordshire and the surrounding area.

We work in inclusive spaces where everybody feels valued. We create inspiring performances of dance and drama with people from all backgrounds, whatever their abilities.

Our goal is to make the performing arts accessible to all, regardless of disability or circumstance. Using this approach, we break down prejudice and barriers to participation for hundreds of young people.

Amazing Fundraising Efforts Keep ActOne Dancing!

Last year fundraising from donations and sponsored events reached dizzying new heights- more than £5,600! We have the following people to thank for this wonderful achievement:

  • Caspar Prestidge; by aiming to set an unofficial World Record to become the first man dressed as a super hero to run sub 3 hours at the London Marathon, Caspar raised £425!
  • Lauren Waterman won £1,500 for coming 1st in the young person of the year awards and in true Lauren style donated all of the prize money right back to charity!
  • Roche (Welwyn Garden City branch of the pharmaceutical company) kindly made a donation of £100
  • Pam Mew and Rita Field completed the Women’s Hyde Park 5km run. Pam raised £960 and Rita £200- a whopping great £1,160 in total!
  • Jackie Wilks embarked on a sponsored climb of Mount Toubkal in the Atlas Mountains.  At 13,700 ft it is the highest peak in North Africa.  Jackie’s incredible efforts raised £2,000 for ActOne!
  • Raffles and cash donations raised £440

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has put time, effort and courage into raising money for ActOne. With your support we can reach more young people, we create new spaces for them to express themselves, and we can train more support workers for those that need a little bit more attention!
