ActOne Logo

ActOne ArtsBase runs vibrant all-ability dance, theatre and arts projects all over Hertfordshire and the surrounding area.

We work in inclusive spaces where everybody feels valued. We create inspiring performances of dance and drama with people from all backgrounds, whatever their abilities.

Our goal is to make the performing arts accessible to all, regardless of disability or circumstance. Using this approach, we break down prejudice and barriers to participation for hundreds of young people.

Become an ActOne Trainee, New places for 2010!

The Trainee Programme currently enables us to provide training to a small group of 18 to 25 year olds who wish to pursue a career in the arts. Training focuses on the support of others, the planning and running of weekly classes and development of artistic abilities. Due to the success of the programme so far and the very limited number of opportunities available to young people – particularly those who are disabled – to access further training in the arts, we have been applying for funds to enable us to involve more trainees and to develop the training activities. Some of this funding has now been secured and we will be extending the programme to involve an additional 10 young people from January 2010! The programme will include trainees gaining an arts award at bronze or silver level. To find out more, take a look at the project page.

We continue to be very impressed with what the ActOne Team manages to get our children to do. The level of care and support is of a very high standard.
