ActOne Logo

ActOne ArtsBase runs vibrant all-ability dance, theatre and arts projects all over Hertfordshire and the surrounding area.

We work in inclusive spaces where everybody feels valued. We create inspiring performances with people from all backgrounds, whatever their abilities.

Our goal is to make the performing arts accessible to all, regardless of disability or circumstance. Using this approach, we break down prejudice and barriers to participation for hundreds of young people.

Supported by the National Lottery through Arts Council England

We are currently raising money towards the next UV Club Night. We are hoping this will be in July 2011. Keep checking the website and facebook page for updates!

To make sure that young people are able to get to and from UV, safely and independently we organise mini buses across the county for those that need assistance with transport. Pick up locations will be dependent on demand so please ask well in advance for more details.

What is UV?

UV is the first Club Night of its kind. It's a social event for young people, held in a safe accessible nightclub with a friendly and accepting atmosphere where young people can meet and socialise. These nightclubs are inclusive and drug, alcohol and parent free!

"I don't feel alone or different at UV"

Accessibility and safety

UV is a completely accessible and safe event. The venue and the mini buses are wheelchair accessible, no strobe lighting is used and there are lots of experienced, first aid qualified support workers present in addition to a number of volunteers all of whom have training with ActOne. If you have any questions about access or safety, please contact Suzie or Jo at the ActOne office. We would be pleased to discuss any concerns you may have.

"UV is OUR club - it's got an identity linked to us. I feel proud to be a part of the planning"

Can you help us to spread the word?

If you attend a school, college or group we would be really grateful for your help in publicising UV as widely as possible.
