ActOne ArtsBase runs vibrant all-ability dance, theatre and arts projects all over Hertfordshire and the surrounding area.
We work in inclusive spaces where everybody feels valued. We create inspiring performances of dance and drama with people from all backgrounds, whatever their abilities.
Our goal is to make the performing arts accessible to all, regardless of disability or circumstance. Using this approach, we break down prejudice and barriers to participation for hundreds of young people.
Ever wanted to know what happens behind the scenes at a nightclub? Would you like to be involved in making club nights happen in your area? If so, read on…
The ActOne team are looking forward to launching the eighth UV Club Night on Saturday 4th July at Plinston, Broadway, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 3NX, 8-11pm.
The events are funded by The Big Lottery’s Young Peoples Fund with support from Hertfordshire County Council, East Herts, St Albans Connections, Three Rivers, Watford, Broxbourne, North Herts Councils.
There will be a total of eight club nights over two years throughout Hertfordshire, involving venues and young people county-wide. Young people are the driving force behind them. To make the UV Club Nights the best possible experience for everyone involved we need your help.
ActOne are inviting young people aged 13+ to get involved behind the scenes of UV by attending a series of workshops in the lead up to each event. There will be workshops in dance (club styles) Capoeira, DJ’ing and art (making decorations for the venue in funky Ultra Violet style) and an opportunity to share ideas. We want to hear your opinions on all aspects of the Club Nights from how flyers look to what music is played.
Workshops take place on Saturday 27th June, 10-3pm and Saturday 4th July, 5-7pm at Plinston, Broadway, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 3NX.
To book please contact ActOne ArtsBase by email , or phone 01707 338373. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to give us a call or email.
